Additional Needs
In the UK, there are currently more than 1 in 10 children who are considered to have Special Educational Needs.
It is not surprising that the 'Center of Parent Information and Resources' carried out a study which showed that one-to-one tuition is extremely beneficial for students with unique learning needs. You and your child are best able to recognise your child’s strengths, needs, and goals. As your tutor, it is my role to partner with and work alongside you to personalise your learning and allow you to achieve your goals in manageable stages.
In my teaching career, I have worked alongside children with a wide range of needs which both allowed them to excel at a subject, and also to find another particularly challenging. Whatever your child's diagnosis (or expected outcome), whether it be autistic spectrum disorder; dyslexia; dyscalculia; social or behavioural needs; hearing loss or impairment; or anything else, it is my delight to support them in achieving in the area they are struggling as well as identifying their strengths.
I strongly believe that every child has individual strengths and talents that can be used to build their confidence and allow them to see and reach their potential in all areas.
Dyslexia Launchpad Pack
The DYSLEXIA LAUNCHPAD PACK comes from a foundation of specific training and months of research. After working with many children with (or with suspected) dyslexia I started looking for resources and found very little that ticked the boxes and was still affordable!
This is a box of resources to support multi-sensory activities and aids for visual stress that are all shown to help children with dyslexia. Among many other things this includes highlighter guidelines and coloured overlays.
It comes with a pack of helpful flash cards, designed by me, that have tips about how to best support your dyslexic child and useful websites to access. They also contain suggestions for how to use the resources effectively and activity ideas.
